Hawick's Annual Open Busking Festival

 

Teribuskers was started four years ago. Our aim was to get children involved in music, to show them it can be fun and very rewarding. It is also to enable musicians of all standards to come along and join in.

All types of music and musicians welcome.

Come and enjoy a weekend of Scottish Borders hospitality .

 


FRIDAY 10th

Ceildh / Concert in Wilton Church Hall - 7:30 p.m.

Ceilidh/ concert featuring Stuart Anderson Ceildh band.

Special guest formally from Hawick Bill Woodcock from the Harbour band now living in Norway and many other local artists.

There will be a bar raffle and light buffet. Tickets £5.00 from Pearl's Hairdressers, Bannerman Burke and Spences Music Shop.

The ceilidh sponsored by Hawick walking festival. Wilton church hall sponsored by Pearl in memory of her father Jim.

SATURDAY 11th

OPEN FESTIVAL OF BUSKING - High Street (traffic free p.m.)

OPTIONAL OPEN COMPETITION SECTION (FREE ENTRY)

Competitors must register between 10:00 a.m. ~ 12:30 p.m. at the Horse.

Open to all types of music.

Opening at Trinity Gardens 11:30

Prizes:

  • Senior (16+) - William Spence Memorial Trophy
  • Junior (under 16) - Richard Common School of Music Trophy
  • Various Cash Prizes

Judging from 1:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m.

Prize Giving - New Deli Bar - 5:30pm


Evening Sessions in Local Hostelries

Plus: The Border Club has a fund raising concert for Anthony Mundell Memorial fund for children with kidney cancer, featuring the St. Boswells concert band entry by donation. Contact Roslyn or Keith on 01450 373989
